Here we will asses your child's needs and determine which assessment would be suitable going forward.

What is involved:

Taking a detailed case history to get a full understanding of your child and what they need.

What to bring:

- All revelvant assessment and reports
- Past speech therapy assessments 
- Reports from school/kindergarten
- Relevant developemental history
- Revevant medical history.

More Complex assessments, such as language assessments, will need a longet session of 60 minutes. However, depending on the child multiple assessment sessions maybe required to complete assessments.

Complex Assessments

Simple assessments, such as an articulation assessment (for speech sounds), can be completed in just one 30 minute session.

What's next...

A written report will be completed detailing your child's history, assessment results, recommendations and referrals to other professionals if necessary. A copy of this report will be provided to you, one will be placed in your child's file and, with your permission, a copy may be sent to other professionals involved with your child.

- Using your child's interests, we will create a fun and engaging session. 
- Incorpoate your childs goals into fun games and activities.
- Parents are encouraged to stay and be involved.
- Take skills learn in the sessions and apply them into life at home.

- Detailed notes about the session
- Liaise with other professionals involved with your child (if necessary)
- Plan the following session: setting goals, gathering materials and locating/writing handouts.

What is involved:

An indidualised therapy program will be developed for your child based on the assessment results, on the information you have provided and based on any goals you have for your child.

We utilise play based learning to ensure that your child will enjoy the whole experience. Your child will walk away from out sessions excited and eager to learn. This enthusiasm is incredibly important so that they continue to practice and grow. 

We believe that it important that you play a strong role in helping your child to grow and I strongly encourage you to watch and participate in the sessions so that you feel confident on how to best help your child.
